Durga McBroom trommelte Pink Floyd’s Tour-Band für Blue Pearl’s Album Naked ins Studio

Gastauftritte von David Gilmour sind schon etwas Besonderes. Einen Richard Wright ins Studio für einen Gastauftritt zu locken, das ist noch außergewöhnlicher. Durga McBroom gelang dieses Kunststück. Auf dem von Guy Pratt geschrieben Song Alive spielen die beiden Musiker von Pink Floyd mit.

Zu Alive erschien ein Videoclip mit Gilmour: Blue Pearl (Durga McBroom & Martin Glover) with David Gilmour & Rick Wright – Alive.

DURGA MCBROOM: This video was directed by the AMAZING Storm Thorgerson, creator and visionary behind all the Pink Floyd album covers. He did me a big favor, because we couldn’t afford him! And David appeared gratis – such a gentleman. Note the fabulous Hammond organ performance by the late Richard Wright, who also played on this track for free. I am very honored.

Neben Gilmour und Wright spielten noch Tim Renwick, Garry Wallis und Guy Pratt mit. Youth, der Gilmour für das The Orb Album Metallic Spheres gewinnen konnte, produzierte Naked. Jahre später kam Gilmour auf ihn zu wegen The Endless River.
