Neues Roger Waters Album handelt von Frieden und Liebe! Tour 2017!

In einem neuen Interview über das Zustandekommen der Haftentlassung des britischen Staatsbürgers Shaker Amen, der jahrelang in Guantánamo eingesperrt war, wurde Roger Waters auch über den Stand seines neuen Albums gefragt. Er will mit dem noch nicht fertiggestellten neuen Album auf Tour gehen!

Roger Waters will wieder auf Tour gehen!

Aus seinen Schilderungen könnte man 2017, als das Jahr der Album Veröffentlichung und der neuen Tour ableiten. Es ist ja noch gar nicht fertig und die neue Liveshow, die sehr aufwendig werden wird, erfordert seine Zeit. 10 Monate benötigte er mit seinem Team für die The Wall Show. Waters will die neuen mit alten Floyd und Solosongs zu einem audiovisuellen Gesamtwerk zusammenschweißen! Außerdem ist sein Ex-Kollege David Gilmour bis Ende September 2016 auf Tour und mit ihm Jon Carin, der bestimmt wieder auf Waters Mitarbeiterliste stehen wird. Das alles deutet auf 2017 hin.

The Powers That Be

Einige interessante politische Thesen gab es von Waters zu hören. Für ihn sind es die konservativen Politiker rund um den Erdball, die unser Leben bestimmen. Es wäre an der Zeit wieder etwas Kontrolle zurückzugewinnen! Das passt gut zur Nachricht der vergangenen Woche, dass die 62 reichsten Menschen der Erde genauso viel besitzen wie die gesamte ärmere Hälfte der Weltbevölkerung.

AMY GOODMAN: You’re about to go on a world tour for your new solo album in two decades.

ROGER WATERS: Well, I’m not about to. It’s very unlikely that I will start touring anywhere this year. These things take a long time. It took me about 10 months to put together The Wall tour. I still have to finish making the record. But, yes, it is my determination to go back on the road.

And the record will be called?

ROGER WATERS: That, I’m not quite sure yet.

Will it be around war?

ROGER WATERS: It will be about peace and love. It will be about my concern for the children of the world and how they’re being slaughtered willy-nilly by whoever it is that runs everything. You know, I don’t want to go all deep state on you, but this whole charade is being controlled—I’m not suggesting conspiracies, but it is being controlled by a group of important elements—you know, the banks, Wall Street, the Pentagon, the NSA, the CIA, the this, the that, the other, the U.K. You know, conservative policies all over the world control the way that we all live. And it is very important that we try to wrest control back to the people.

So we need to educate. We need an educated electorate who can start confronting the problems that lead to the children of the world, all of them, all the children all over the world, not living in an atmosphere of peace and love, which is what they deserve and which is what we have to bring to them somehow. And Andy and Jo, the work that they’re doing with Shaker and with Guantánamo is fundamental to that more general—more general work that we need to focus on, is my view.
