Nick Mason über Australien-Tour und David Gilmour Auftritt mit Saucerful Of Secrets

Sean Sennett talks to Nick Mason’s Pink Floyd about his new band Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets ahead of their Australian tour in September 2023.

HEY HEY RISE UP

Sean Sennett: Speaking of War, Ukraine and Hey Hey Rise Up. Were you surprised to get the all from David to record that track?

Nick Mason: I was astonished. I mean, I talked to David a few times. I thought it was a great idea, and I understand absolutely why he felt so strong about it. His Daughter in Law is Ukrainian. It would have been really jealous to do anything other than saying, “Yes, of course”. Do it. And I also think he did the most incredible technical Job. In terms of designing a backing track that was put on, but after the lead vocals were done. It was a very interesting exercise. It has made quite a lot of money. I think that is a good thing.

DAVID GILMOUR GASTAUFTRITT MIT SAUCERS?

Sean Sennett: Roger jumped up with you guys and did a track or two with you in New York.

Nick Mason: Yes, which was absolutely terrific. I hope that David, at one point, might do the same. Because it’s a great thing and the audience loves it, of course, also it feels good for me.
