Anlässlich seines 15-jährigen Jubiläums ist dieses einzigartige Gemeinschaftsprojekt von The Orb und David Gilmour nun wieder auf Vinyl erhältlich, gepresst auf einem perlmuttfarbenen Metallic Sunrise-Vinyl. Metallic Spheres entstand, nachdem ein Remix-Projekt von The Orb, Youth und David Gilmour zu einem Album in voller Länge erweitert wurde und das Trio eine Klangmischung aus verschiedenen Stilrichtungen entwickelte.

Das Album ist in zwei Teile gegliedert – „Metallic Side“ (LP1) und „Spheres Side“ (LP2) – und zeichnet sich durch David Gilmours markante E-Gitarre und Lap-Steel-Gitarre, Alex Patersons Soundmanipulationen, Keyboards und Turntables sowie Youths Bassgitarre und Keyboards aus.
