40 Jahre „Feed The World – Live Aid Charity Concert“ 13.7.1985 London, Wembley-Stadion

Bemerkenswertes:
Wo waren Pink Floyd?
Pink Floyd … how I wish you were there!
Bryan Ferry & David Gilmour

Live Aid: Waters & Gilmour Backstage
Das allerbeste war, dass Roger Waters und David Gilmour Backstage im Wembley-Stadion Interviews gaben. Also doch: Pink Floyds Masterminds waren gekommen!

Dave, you had a nasty little moment, when your guitar went off during the Bryan Ferry Set? Does the iffness of the sound not matter when you’re doing something like this?
DAVID GILMOUR: Well, of course it matters, but you have to do the best you can at the time. You can’t stop, can you?
How did it feel out on the stage?
DAVID GILMOUR: It was great, hot.
How did you get to play with Brian, after you had a long-standing friendship?
DAVID GILMOUR: I played on his album a bit. He rang up asking if I did this; speak with him, and I said fine, easy.
There seems to be a lovely camaraderie among all the people in bands.
DAVID GILMOUR: Just pretending (lacht).
Do you think that a lot of poeple are in it for to get something for themselfes or do you think its all genuine willingness to help?
DAVID GILMOUR: I think everybody is very willing to help, and they all would like to get some promotion out of it as well. I mean, I don’t see anything particularly wrong with that myself.

Newmark spielte auf Pink Floyds The Final Cut Album, bei Two Suns in The Sunset, spielte auf The Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking Album und Tour 1984 und 1985.
How did you enjoy it today?
ROGER WATERS: Very much. I was at home today most of the time, watching it all on television. I think it’s been spectacular.
Do you think the atmosphere was transmitted when you watched it on telly?
ROGER WATERS: I think so, yeah, though that’s over there, you know, sort of noon, it’s a bit difficult to get into anything. But you can see that everybody here was really into it. I think it’s been great.
Who did you enjoy most?
ROGER WATERS: Well, I came down to see the dinosaurs, and they were wonderful. The Who, I really came down to sort of in time to see them, and I thought they were spectacular. Splendid, and everybody’s been buzzing about Queen; that’s who I’ve run into. They said they had everybody completely spelled on.
Stimmt’s?
Thats where you go …
ROGER WATERS: Yeah, well, this kind of game lends itself to that, yeah. Well, there’s a state stadium; gigs do lend themselves to that sort of thing, don’t they?
What do you think about the Bowie-Jagger thing?
ROGER WATERS: I didn’t see that. I was probably having my bath.
Yeah, it’s probably bathtime … and are you going on that to the end, you think?
ROGER WATERS: I dont know.
If you are, you should go into that little room, because they are about to rehearse the song.
ROGER WATERS: Yeah, that’s what I should see.
Interview: Roger Waters – Backstage (Live Aid 1985)
1987 veröffentlichte Waters das Album Radio Kaos. Darauf befindet sich der Song The Tide Is Turning (After Live Aid).
