The Black Strat (fourth edition)

David Gilmour Black Strat

Extensively illustrated with over 400 photographs and diagrams, Pink Floyd – The Black Strat is a rewarding and accessible book that Pink Floyd fans the world over will thoroughly enjoy.

Author Phil Taylor was born in London and spent his childhood in Kent before returning to the capital in 1970 to pursue his career in the world of music. After four years working with other bands, he was employed by Pink Floyd as their only full-time backline crew member. Responsible for all of the band’s equipment – guitars, keyboards, bass and drums both on tour and in the studio, Phil has worked on every Pink Floyd and David Gilmour project since 1974 and is the only person to know Pink Floyd’s equipment better than the band members themselves. He was both production director and guitar technician for David’s solo shows in 2001/2002, the On An Island tour 2006, the Rattle That Lock tour 2015/2016 as well as Pink Floyd’s Live8 reunion in 2005. He now manages David’s studios and equipment warehouse as well as being his personal guitar technician.
