Vor sage und schreibe 58 Jahren trat Pink Floyd in Nottingham auf. Der Auftritt fand im Zuge der The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Move, Pink Floyd, The Nice, Amen Corner, Eire Apparent & Outer Limits Package Tour 1967 statt.

50 Jahre später, 2017, erschien in der Nottingham Post der Augenzeugenbericht der damals 16-jährigen Sue Topham. When Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett blew minds at the Theatre Royal Nottingham 50 years ago. Erstaunlicherweise kann sie sich noch an etliche Details erinnern.

Sue Topham: I remember they did an incredible version of Interstellar Overdrive and Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. It was amazing, but all over very quickly. They played no more than 15 minutes – there were 6 other bands to fit into the gig.

Pink Floyd trat an diesem Tag gleich zweimal auf. Beim ersten Auftritt, der gegen 17:30 Uhr war, ersetzte Davy O’List von The Nice Syd Barrett als Gitarrist!
