David Gilmour über Rattle That Lock Album & Tour

How far along is your tour preparation at the moment?
David Gilmour: I’ve got the band booked. I’ve got the rehearsal space booked. But I haven’t even started thinking about anything to do with it yet, but it’s my next project. It’s my task to settle down to after breakfast tomorrow.

Are you going to play the whole new album?
David Gilmour: That’s very possible. But as I said, I haven’t made that plan yet.

Are there certain Pink Floyd songs, like “Echoes” that you won’t play without Rick?

David Gilmour: I think it wouldn’t be right to play “Echoes.” I greatly doubt we’ll do that. But anything that feels like it’ll fit and it’ll be fun, I’ll do it. I might do “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” again. I haven’t completely closed the door to Pink Floyd songs. They’re so much fun.

Who is going to play keyboards?

David Gilmour: Jon Carin and Kevin McAlea, who played at the Kate Bush shows in London last year.

Will Phil Manzanera be on guitar?
David Gilmour: Yeah, Phil will be playing guitar; Guy Pratt on bass. Steve Distanislao will be on drums.

The last tour was really incredible. Do you worry it’ll be hard to top that one?

David Gilmour: Musically, I think we did very well last time, and hopefully we can be as good musically. My worry is whether I’ll get to enjoy it as much as I did last time. We just had such a terrific time on that one. It really was more enjoyable for us than anyone else, I think. We got on so well. I hope without Rick there it’ll be as fun. We’ll wait and see and do our best.

Not a ton of dates have been announced.
David Gilmour: It’s not going to be a long tour.

Roger did his Wall show over 200 times.
David Gilmour: Did he? Well, I’m full of admiration for someone that can do that. But I think those days are past for me.

But anything that feels like it’ll fit and it’ll be fun, I’ll do it. […] They [the Pink Floyd songs]’re so much fun.”

Also keine Panik liebe Leute!

    A BOAT LIES WAITING (Samson)

    Something i never knew
    In silence i’d hear you
    And a Boat lies waiting
    Still your Clouds all flaming
    That old time easy feeling

What i lost was an ocean
Now im drifting through without you
    In this sad barcarolle

What i lost was an ocean
And i’m rolling right behind you
    in the sad barcarolle

It rock you like a cradle
it rocks you to the core
    you’ll sleep like a baby
as it knocks at Death’s door

    FACES OF STONE (Gilmour)

Faces of stone that watched from the dark
As the wind swirled around and you took my arm in the park
Images framed, hung high in the trees
and you talked of your youth but the years had turned dry as the leaves

your lower was gone, his replacement to hand
and just what the difference was, you could not understand
in darkening grey we walked back through the streets
Then you talked all night ling of your childhood home by the sea

and it was disguise a mask chosen by you
    believed every word i heard
at least i think thats what i tried to do

we sat on the roof – the night overflowed
no more was said but i learded all i needed to know
your hollywood smile shone a light on the past
but it was the future that you held so tight to your heart

    was sagt ihr:)

Wo hast du die Texte denn schon her?

    Grüße an alle
