Konzertbericht

Mica Paris singt Great Gig in
the Sky.
07.06.2006: Gegen 16:00 Uhr trafen
ich und Peter Schernthaner bei der
Royal Albert Hall ein.
In der Royal Albert Hall
kam ich an einer Bar vorbei und
traf dort Glenn Povey.
Glenn war der Herausgeber des
legendären Brain Damage
Fanzines. Er und Ian Russel
haben mit "In The Flesh"
eines der besten Pink Floyd
Bücher überhaupt geschrieben.
Glenn erzählte mir von einem
neuen Floyd Buchprojekt. Er
möchte das Buch noch dieses Jahr
veröffentlichen. Er sagte mir zu
die "Pulse & Spirit"
Besucher darüber
rechtzeitig zu informieren.
Heute saß ich in der 12 Reihe.
Ich war sehr zufrieden mit
diesem Platz. Neben mir saß ein
weiterer Freund aus Österreich
David Baldinger. Er hatte
ein paar Tage zuvor rein
zufällig Joe Boyd in
einem Pub getroffen. Joe Boyd
hat die ersten Pink Floyd
Singles produziert und war
Besitzer des legendären
UFO-Clubs. Er hat ein Buch mit
dem Titel
"White Bicycles - Making Music in the
1960s"
geschrieben. Darin kommen
natürlich auch Pink Floyd vor.
Joe Boyd las aus dem Buch und
anschließend konnte man ihm
Fragen stellen. David fragte ihn
ob er sich eines der David
Gilmour Konzert in der Royal
Albert Hall ansieht. Boyd
antwortete das Rick Wright
ihn für den 30.5. eingeladen
hat.
Gleich zum Konzert:
Beim Intro von Shine On You
Crazy Diamond verspielte
sich Gilmour. Gekonnt besserte
er aber den kleinen "Schnitzer" wieder
aus. Als nach "High Hopes" kein "Ping"
folgte sondern Phil Taylor
eine weiße Slidegitarre auf
die Bühne brachte war klar das
etwas besonders anstand. A
Great Gig in The Sky wurde
von Mica Paris gesungen.
Die Version unterschied sich
deutlich vom Original.
Klarerweise denn Mica´s Stimme
ist viel tiefer als die von
Clare Torry. Das Saallicht
wurde heute dezenter eingesetzt
als gestern. Bei Echoes
gab es diesmal keine Lichtshow
im Publikumsraum.

DG and his band again in this fantastic venue the Royal Albert
Hall was unbelievable , I’m lost for words .The sound in the
hall was very good I think everywhere I really liked the way the
hall was used in the light show.
I would prefer that he would start with castellorizon like in the first leg off the tour and the Pink Floyd part in the second part of the show . I guess this way it is better divided I’m still lyric about Echoes I love the part @ the and between piano and guitar shame that on the Monday the audience start clapping and shouting way to early dave still keep on playing for the dvd shake hahahaha I can’t wait for that one I hope that that not going to be an other Pulse saga!!
I expect it will be in stores before x-mas maybe even September
cause the pulse dvd is out earlier know I think because of DG
own tour dvd.Yep it was a great show ( Not beating
