5.10.2007: Johnny Rotten, Sänger der legendären Sex Pistols, relativierte in einem Interview für die The Sun seine Aussagen über Pink Floyd. Nein, hassen würde er die Floyds nicht, nur die Institution die sie geworden sind. David Gilmour kenne er gut und findet ihn auch sympathisch, außerdem hatten Pink Floyd Humor, denn immerhin mussten sie mit Syd Barrett zusammenarbeiten, so Rotten.

You first walked into Malcolm McLaren’s Sex boutique wearing a T-shirt which said ‘I hate Pink Floyd’. Did you detest them?

JOHNNY ROTTEN: No, no absolutely not. I mean I know whatshisname (David Gilmour) the guitarist really quite well. He’s a great bloke. It’s not about them, it’s about the institution they became. Oddly enough, they’re one of the few bands who never resented us. They have humour. They had to work with Syd Barrett.
