P&S: Fantastic Material really! There was no hope that we ever get something like that to watch! Mal Hyams: I am pleased you like it.
Why was it possible that you could watch the rehearsals? Mal Hyams: It was possible for me to video the rehearsal because I rented Earls Court for a business show which had finished and been cleared away. The tenancy I had expired at midnight, they began rehearsing around 8pm. They could have told me to stop recording, and I could have asked them to leave until midnight, when their tenancy officially began. It also helps when the Hall Manager is a personal friend, and has been for almost 30 years!
Did you see any official Cameras filming during the concert? Mal Hyams: There were no cameras as far as I know during the rehearsal, only mine. There were a few professional camera crews filming the concert itself which was obviously pre planned. I have not seen those results.
Are you a Pink Floyd fan or was it just a coincidence? Mal Hyams: I was a fan before the concert. It was a fantastic experience to see the rehearsal and then the concert the following evening. I was an even bigger fan after the show experience, and have been ever since.
Which other Pink Floyd Shows did you saw? Mal Hymas: The wall concert was the only show I have been to by Pink Floyd, a liitle after that I moved to South Africa, then on to Australia before returning to the UK in the 90's. The Pink Floyd show at Earls Court was the best concert I have ever attended. The atmosphere, the sounds and the overall experience was fantastic. Imagine, 16,000 empty seats and Pink Floyd playing just for me..... It just doesn't get any better!! |
