12.04.2008: Roger Waters mit Bart ziert das Cover der Mai Ausgabe des englischen WORD Magazins. Die passende Schlagzeile dazu lautet: ROGER WATERS "Demons, rivals, Dark Side and the complicated future of Pink Floyd!"

Roger Waters präsentierte sich in guter Laune. Man erfährt einige Neuigkeiten. So wußte ich nicht, das er schon immer ein Arsenal Fan ist. Waters verfolgt in Manhattan auch die Champions-League und besonders die Spiele seines Lieblingsvereins Arsenal London. Übrigens eines der wenigen Dinge bei denen sich Gilmour und Waters völlig einig sind. Über ein neues Roger Waters Album ist leider nichts zu erfahren. Er wird nach seinen musikalischen Lieblingen gefragt. Und wieder einmal schwärmt er von Neil Young, John Lennon und John Prine. Radiohead respektiert er aber sie sind nicht so sein Ding.

Barack Obama ist Waters Präsidentenkandidat und die bevorstehende US-Präsidentenwahl sagte Waters: "I'm a huge fan of Barack Obama. I was so disappointed the other night when the ghastly Hillary got Texas and kept the whole thing going." Bei einer Wahl von Hillary Clinton befürchtet er eine Invasion des Irans. Waters: "Please God, let's not have this woman! Hillary will want to make her mark and show that she can be just as good as a male president, and she will fucking invade Iran. Trust me. She voted to declare the Iranian Republican Guard a terrorist organisation! I would buy a whole page in The New York Times and fly Obama's flag. But I would be terribly afraid they'd go, 'this is that pinkoshitbag who's attacking our President in a time of war'."

“Well, we never speak to each other.”

Roger Waters über sein immer noch gespanntes Verhältnis zu David Gilmour.

Wenig neues hingegen gibt es über sein Verhältnis zu David Gilmour und auch ob Pink Floyd noch einmal gemeinsame Sache machen. Nach einer möglichen Reunion befragt, antwortet Waters: "The answer is .. not up to me. I´d be very happy to do it, but its sort of up to Dave, I guess. But i dont think he wants to do it, so i dont think it´ll happen. And that absolutley fair enough." Waters möchte gerne wieder mit Pink Floyd, versteht aber durchaus das Gilmour keine Lust mehr dazu hat. Auf die Frage wie sein Verhältnis zu Gilmour sei, antwortet er: "Well we never speak to each other. But we dont speak to each other in a very cordial way. I feel no enmity at all." Auch nicht gerade ideal, wenn die beide nie miteinander sprechen! Wie soll man sich dabei näher kommen? Immerhin besteht keine Feindschaft mehr. Also keine wesentliche Veränderungen bei diesem Thema.

Waters gefällt der die zunehmende Anteil weiblicher Fans bei seinen Konzerten. Scherzhaft meint er, dass ihm nun öfters mit Unterwäsche zugewinkt wird. Waters: "Women did tend to have a slightly different reaction to us from men. But I'm happy to say that women in general - and young women in particular - are attaching themselves to this stuff a lot more than they used to.
"There's definitely a bit more knicker-waving now, which is a good thing. My audience is now packed with young women, whereas it always used to be young mean in greatcoats. You look at some of that old footage on YouTube and you can see that the audience used to sit there, actually sit, very still and quiet, concentrating and listening very carefully."
