Die Fantastischen Vier - Echoes 11.05.2008: Die Fantastischen Vier veröffentlichten 1993 ihr Album "Die 4. Dimension". Darauf befindet sich der Song „Schizophren“. Ab Sekunde 0:30 hört man ein uns sehr bekanntes Sample, das sich bis zum Ende des Songs noch steigert. Bei Amazon kann man sich 30 Sekunden des Songs anhören. 03.06.2008: Martha Wainwright veröffentlicht am 30. Mai ihr drittes Album mit dem Titel: I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too. Wainwright spielt auf dem Album See Emily Play nach. Hörproben gibt es auf der Wanwritghs: MySpace Seite 2007 spielte sie mit ihrer Mutter beim Syd Barrett - Madcaps Last Laugh Konzert in der Barbican Hall mit. Damals spielte die beiden Golden Hair und See Emily Play. Europe Livealbum.

19.04.2008: Jetzt gibt es also auch eine Jazzversion von Dark Side of the Moon. P&S Besucher Ulf Knolle hat das Album gehört und schreibt folgende Kritik darüber. Ich bin heute fündig geworden im Saubillig-Markt für 18,99 ....da ich aber total begeistert war , eine Multi Channel SACD in der Hand zu haben, ließ ich auch nicht mehr los. Das Chesky-Label bürgt auf dem Gebiet sowieso für Qualität. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Komplett instrumental, jazz-klassisch arrangiert mit Hammond B3, el. + ac. guitar, drums und Sax. Der 5.1 Mix ist absolut luftig und live, keine PingPong-FX , man glaubt, die Band steht vor einem, von hinten nur Raumanteil. Da ich sowieso dem Jazz offen stehe... der Kauf der Woche!! Das DSOTM als Ausgangsmaterial dient, ist in diesem Fall ein Glücksgriff. Vielleicht findet der PF-Fan über diese Scheibe zum Jazz...... Jazz Musiker Sam Yahel gegenüber Highfidelity: "I went home and listened to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time since high school and realized 'Hey, there's a lof of meat on these bones.' Certainly the way they used effects was very fresh, and consistently served a musical purpose. And I wanted to capture that spirit using only the Hammond organ and a Leslie, it was our approximation of what they did in the studio, live in a purely acoustic environment, with no tricks."

von Oskar Giovanelli 22.06.2008: Am 20. Juni ist die CD „Rita Marcotulli: omaggio ai Pink Floyd“ aus der Reihe Jazzitaliano live 2008 erschienen (5. CD der Reihe). Die Aufnahme wurde am 17.03.2008 in der Casa del Jazz in Rom live aufgenommen. Ich habe mir diese CD aus Interesse gekauft (bin kein Jazzkenner) und muss sagen, dass wirklich einige Super-Arrangements von Pink Floyd Klassikern dabei sind. Ich hätte mir solch innovative Versionen von (fast alles) Waters-Kompositionen nicht erwartet. Meiner Meinung nach heben sie diese Musik auf einen anderen Level. Nicht besser, nicht schlechter… einfach anders. Das Tolle ist, dass einige Songs ausgewählt wurden, die sonst kaum Beachtung finden: CD Rita Marcotulli: omaggio ai Pink Floyd
Intro/Astronomy
Dominè 7:28 Die Besetzung besteht aus international bekannten Jazzern, wie A. Sheppard, M. Garrison und A. Golino. Sie machen den frühen Floyd alle Ehre indem sie innerhalb der Songs zu psychedelischen Free-Jazz-Orgien abreisen, wie z.B. bei „Astronomy Dominé“, „Cirrus Minor“ oder „Money“. Die Songs sind teilweise auch dementsprechend lang ausgefallen. Ein besonderer Leckerbissen ist „Set the controls fort he heart of the sun“, der mit dem arabisch-napoletanischen Gesang von Raiz (bekannter Ethnomusiker in Italien) ganz eigene Dynamiken entwickelt. An zwei Stellen haben sich kurze Hommagen von Marcotulli und Rabbia eingeschlichen. Line up: Rita Marcotulli: Pianoforte u.
